With the vermillion stroll,
around her youth,
she looked at herself in the mirror
as if the poet was looking at her for the last time!
A sigh reminded her,
of the warmth of his breath...
while he had embraced her...so close,
that she felt baked even around frosty mountains....
'They look like ONE dot'....a bird chirped....
A maple coloured chinar leaf flew over,
(as she had leaned over his chest)
and brushed over her crimson cheeks...
He took that leaf and kept it in a book...
To write a poem...that would NEVER turn bitter...
She failed to forget that poem
as she was getting married...
to a stranger....who gazed her lovingly.....
her eyes welled up...the stroll slipped from her head...
and she prayed that her poet's life never turns bitter...
She becomes a faithful wife to a stunning man...
I am lucky to have married a stranger like her...the stunner jokes...
Except the poet has turned bitter.....the chinar leaf has wilted now....
'He is a better father' poet's wife brags to the friends....
But was he ever a poet? someone asks...
the poet in him groans...
a chinar leaf rolls near his feet...
He picks it up and this time gives to his wife.... :)
- Nirzara Verulkar
This is my first poem...for my ALL time favourite Kabhi Kabhi....
These are a first few lines for Mr. Bachan's and Rakhi's and
THE STUNNER Shashi Kapoor's characters......
While Shashi Kapoor's character was astoundingly attractive...
Mr. Bachan stood for a poise, restraint and agony of an unfulfilled love....
his a bitterness...makes you ache to your very bones....
You wish this character wrote one poem....and smiled....but
we meet him as an angry man...and an overcompensating (poetic) father....
While Waheeda Rehman's character comes forth as a mystery box
But a strong woman with agency...navigating through life with a bitter man....
who may never love her!
Coming up next is an Ode too......
Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's effervescent romance.....
and Neetu Kapoor - A story of a little girl....
Dedicated to My father like Mr. Amitabh Bachan....
Eternally grateful for Yash Raj Films to have created this wonder!
