Jaipur - Block printing & Natural Dying

I went to Jaipur a few months back and visited a small workshop that deals with natural colours and block printing. This print is famous by the name Bagru Print!

Bagru is a small village around 45 minutes for the Pink City and is famous for its printing techniques.
People staying in this village belong to Chhipa community.
Chhipa (Means people who print or stamp)
This village was developed as a centre for block printing!

The people from Chhipa community came from Sawai Madhopur to Bagru and settled along the Sanjaria River.

That is the reason that the second form of printing (besides Bagru print) is called 'Sanganer' Print.
Sanganer print consists of brighter colours whereas Bagru essentially has mainly four colours
i.e. Maroon, Indigo, Black and yellow. Bagru is a printing technique which uses all natural colours and that is the speciality of this village.

Sharing some pictures that I took..
